Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician, recommended fasting for patients as early as the 5th century BC, and science has now proven that it can reduce the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity. 

 

But that's not all - fasting also promotes autophagy. This is when the true magic happens;

Human growth hormone (HGH) is produced, which is great for muscle growth, bone health, fat loss, and anti-aging. Autophagy reduces your toxic load and eliminates waste products and damaged cells that otherwise can cause serious disease.
